Metaphor boards are used in aiding the design team to specifically understand the physical and abstract design languages that the product(s) should convey. These factors can be injected into the design’s form factor and color scheme as well as its user interfaces. The metaphor board is also used in helping the client and marketing group grasp the design intent and direction.​
