Research     RadioShack A/V Cables     Page 1 of 2  ::  Plotting the Competitive Landscape

To better understand where the numerous cables available today sit in relation to their whole and to translate an overall direction regarding a common design language, they need to be plotted on a liner matrix. Two axes are represented above: the Precision/Imprecision axis which deals with how well a cable conveys its ability to translate the home theater signal accurately; the Weak/Muscular axis deals with a cable’s ability to carry a large signal. It is interesting to see how and understand why the Muscular/Precision quadrant contains cables of a metallic and geometric nature while plastic and mutely colored cables occupy the Weak/Imprecision quadrant.
