Disc Remote by Hitachi (left):  utilizes two 3-way volume/channel dials: Up value, Down value and “depress” to invoke additional functions. Design innovations include an acrylic plate backside painted in a light blue metallic.  Also included are all silver illuminated buttons.​

Modero Remote and Charger by AMX (right): uses high end materials such as black anodized brushed AL, gloss black plastic and chrome details to convey a visual connection to high end A/V equipment. The charger cradle uses a basic circular geometric form that compliments the linear form language of the remote. The use of gloss black plastic and the chrome ring aids in further making these two units a family.
