Product Packaging Design
Pictured below is the brand new packaging design language developed in conjunction with Industrial Design and Marketing. The goal here was to allow the Industrial Design product visual brand language (VBL) elements drive the packaging visual elements. For example, the Hero 9.1 carton on the right echoes physical product geometry and CMF elements dictated by the Industrial Design VBL. Such elements that are carried from the product ID into the packaging graphics are (1) the angled graphics mimicking the angled geometry most prominently displayed around the control panel and paper output area; (2) the brushed metal details that carry throughout the Hero Consumer language are echoed as a metallic graphical strip seen between the upper black portion and the center yellow area; (3) the gloss and matte black plastic printer color scheme is carried into the black graphic areas as gloss and matte finishes.
OOBE (Out-of-Box-Experience) Packaging Design
Ink Tank Packaging Design
Pictured below, the ink tank packaging design is displayed. The visual flow is carried across the ink tank labels into the packaging while maintaining consistent visual elements.
The Kodak ink tanks support all printers across both Consumer and Business products lines; hence, the visual design tries to maintain a balanced visual match between the Hero and ESP product cartons by playing into the ubiquitous Kodak Yellow branding and black color scheme seen across all printer VBLs.
Pictured below,  the OOBE (Out-of-Box-Experience) is displayed. The main objective for the packaging design revamp was to create an intuitive, uncomplicated and welcoming setup and installation process which was implemented to combat the high amount of customer service calls during setup. The new packaging OOBE drastically reduced those calls.

Supporting this solution are numbered boxes, envelopes and "Start Here" instructions encased in the main carton that direct the user in a step by step printer set up and installation process (what to open 1st - then 2nd and so on). Everything from the main product carton - to the numbered set up boxes - to the enclosed collateral - to the packages of sample photo paper - to the instructions - all carries the same cohesive visual theme.
