ID Details: design metaphors are based on the
various ways that a muscle car conveys its power.

Key elements of interest are methods that exhaust pipes and engine headers were amplified on muscle cars. That same technique is applied to the cables primarily where the polished nickel barrel protrudes out from the V-shaped plastic strain relief/grip.

Further study revealed that A/V cables must be easily recognized and intuitive in a home theater set-up. To support that finding, each cable contains a triangular color-coder located on its body and usability graphics along the cord.

Further factors that aid in supporting the design concept are a thicker cord and sinking the brass head into the main body which both evoke strength and precision.
